winsiteWP is a Wordpress agency specializing in custom website design, development, and speed optimization. They also white label their services for various technology partners. Winsite Digital, winsiteWP’s parent company, has been delivering digital marketing and website services since 2008. winsiteWP launched in 2020 to focus on the world's most popular website platform: WordPress. winsiteWP’s brand is centered on delivering WordPress design, development, and maintenance to small businesses throughout the U.S who may not have the time, technical acuity, or budget for big marketing firms.
Our approach was to create a new, relevant brand, build a website focused on lead conversion, and design a strategic pay-per-click ad campaign.
My role was to establish the visual direction of the brand and design the user interface of winsiteWP’s website. Creating a strong brand is a collaborative effort and involves interviewing, gathering data, and working alongside key stakeholders (management, copywriters, developers, clients, and vendors) to hone in on the voice of the brand and the vision of the company.
I conducted user research and sought user feedback, and performed competitive analysis using the SWOT method (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) to convey the “why” behind my recommendations to management. And then the hard part: translating all of that to a great looking website. I was responsible for coming up with concepts, prototyping, wire-framing the site’s layout, branding, creating brand assets such as illustrations, icons, pay-per-click ads, and ensuring a quality product during the site’s development phase.
winsiteWP’s brand is centered on delivering WordPress design, development, and maintenance to small-to-medium size businesses throughout the U.S. Specifically, we are targeting business owners and their IT leads who may not have the time, technical acuity, or budget for big marketing firms.
Create a brand identity that is separate, but familiar to, Winsite Digital. We saw this as a challenge to create something new that would cater to our target audience and showcase our capabilities and services.
We grappled with how to differentiate winsiteWP from its parent company. We came up with a unique list of qualities including: working with WordPress-only web properties offering transparent pricing as opposed to custom quotes; and offering a white label for strategic technology and marketing partners.
To create a cohesive user experience through strategic marketing ads, clever branding, and thoughtful website design.
Introduce potential client to the brand and services both organically and with targeted ads.
Educate prospective clients on services offered with concise copy and transparent pricing.
Consistent visuals, engaging content, and other trust factors that help visitors convert into new accounts.
Potential clients will evaluate the value proposition based on the overall presentation.
We follow through with our goal of converting visitors into qualified leads.
Creating a project brief came first. I was able to learn about winsiteWP’s mission and values. Then, I performed a competitive analysis and learned about the target audience. We created the right look and feel of the brand and differentiated it from the competition. The design journey started with designing the logo and establishing the brand's look, finding the right type, colors, and imagery. After creating the logo, all other assets were created to align with the main brand identity, including hand illustrations, imagery, icons, and layered backgrounds. We carried over all of this styling and applied it to the website as well as to all marketing collateral.
Our goal was to establish a clear value proposition with concise content, clear calls-to-action, and a tie-back to the brand’s transparent pricing. The user is always the main focus when designing the website.Visually, we focus on delivering a clean, fun, inclusive, and informative design that keeps users engaged. Throughout this process, we worked very closely with management and team members to seek out and apply their feedback to the design. Finally, once the desktop version was well-established, we took the time to create a dedicated set of responsive designs that facilitated an equally great user experience on tablet and mobile devices.
This was an amazing design project for me. Not only did I enjoy the chance to create fun visuals, but I also loved implementing sound UX research principles to help create a well-tested brand identity and site design. In the end we created a brand that resonated with our target audience and built a site that is visually refreshing. winsiteWP.com, has clear and concise content, transparent pricing, and most of all, a website that converts.
According to the data we gathered from Google Analytics and Hotjar, we saw a positive increase in engagement with PPC ads and website activity.
